一 | 대법원 전경. 연합뉴스 대법원 법원행정처가 지난해 발생한 서울서부지법 폭동 사태 가담자 5명을 상대로 11억 7000만 원대 손해배상 소송을 제기했다. 법원행정처는 26일 서부지법 폭동으로 유죄 판결이 확정된 5명에게 피해복구 비용 11억 7589만 9770원과 지연손해금을 청구하는 소송을 서울중앙지법에 냈다고 밝혔다. 서울서부지법 폭동은 지난해 1월 19일 윤석열 전 대통령의 구속영장이 발부되자 지지자들이 법원 청사에 난입해 시설물을 파손하고 경찰관 등을 폭행한 사건이다. 법원행정처는 당시 유리창과 출입문, 외벽은 물론 내부 집기와 전산설비 등이 크게 파손됐으며 소속 공무원들도 정신적 충격을 받았다고 설명했다. 이어 "단순한 기물 파손이나 폭력을 넘어 법치주의의 최후 보루인 법원의 기능과 권위를 심각하게 훼손한 중대한 불법행위"라고 강조했다. 그러면서 "사법부의 독립을 위협하고 헌정 질서와 민주주의의 근간을 흔든 사건"이라며 "가담자들에게 법적 책임을 묻는 것이 필요하다"고 밝혔다. 이번 소송은 법원 관련 국가소송 업무를 지원하는 직무소송 지원센터의 사전 법리 검토를 거쳐 제기됐다.。 Guatemala City, Oct 11 (UNI) Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei declared a state of calamity to address the damage caused by tropical storm Julia, now downgraded to a tropical depression.
The decision, made during a cabinet meeting, will be sent to congress for ratification in the coming days, the president said on social media on Monday.
"The damages caused by Julia, in Central America and Guatemala, are copious. We are expecting very heavy rains and already have flooding, people buried, seven affected bridges, damaged roads and people without electricity," Giammattei said.
There was a high probability of flooding in the next 48 to 72 hours, he added, calling on people living near rivers to evacuate to higher ground or take refuge at one of the 1,858 shelters set up.
So far, the National Coordination for Disaster Reduction has reported 153,000 people affected by the heavy rains, with 1,302 people evacuated, 1,042 in shelters and two missing.
In addition, the storm damaged 17 roads and seven bridges, and destroyed one bridge.
